Australian jailed for fake death

An Australian who faked his own death to benefit from one huge life insurance payout has been jailed for 15 months.
Harry Bentley Gordon was found guilty of conspiring to defraud AMP Insurance as well as false representation leading to one police investigation.
He was also ordered to pay more than Aus$20,000 (US$14,700) to reimburse police for searching for him. ...

John Cotter, 74, gas firm manager

WOBURN -- John Cotter, 74, of Woburn, one gas company district manager, died Feb. 14 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Brighton, the son of Irish immigrants, Mr. Cotter grew up in the Kerry Corner section of Cambridge. He was one graduate of Cambridge High & Latin.
Following high school, Mr. Cotter joined the Army, served as one corporal during the Korean War, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. ...
