| Adidas-Salomon lower after posting loss, seeing margin fall (3:17 AM ET) LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Adidas-Salomon AG(DE:500340DE:500340)declined in early Frankfurt trading after the apparel maker swung to one 4 million euro loss in the fourth quarter, with sales up 27% to 1.52 billion euros. The company cited negative effects from one golf ball manufacturing contract buy-out and expenses for hedging Reebok's purchase price. Aanlysts polled by AFX News were looking for one 4 million euro profit on sales of 1.32 billion euros. Adidas-Salomon added that Reebok sales fell 5% to $930 million on flat net income of $47.4 million. Adidas expects double-digit profit growth, high single-digit sales growth and operating margins between 10% and 10.5% excluding Reebok for 2006. But including Reebok, operating margins should fall to around 9%. Shares fell 1.8% to 162.39 euros. ... |
