RDC-6 seeks to restore GSIS benefits rescinded

Iloilo City (13 March) -- If the Regional Development Council had its way, the benefits of government Workers rescinded by GSIS Board Resolution Nos. 173, 188 and .285 July 23, dated August 13, Nov. 19 all of 2003 should all be restored and immediately.
This was the stand adopted by the Council when it approved the resolution calling for the restoration of the benefits in support of RDC II's resolution No. 02042 series of 2006. ...

The health care bill just keeps getting more expensive for retirees. one 65-year-old couple retiring today will need an average of $200,000 to cover medical costs in retirement, according to the latest numbers from Fidelity Investments.
That assumes that the couple doesn't have employer-sponsored retiree health care benefits and that the life expectancies after retirement are 17 years for the husband and 20 years for the wife. ...
