LONDON (AFX) - UK blue chips pushed higher in early deals this morning, reaching one new five-year high and pushing through the key 6,000 barrier, dealers said. At 8.04 am, the FTSE 100 was trading at 6,015.7, with the broader indices mixed. Insurers led the gainers, with Legal & General adding 4-3/4 at 138-3/4, after turning in better-than-expected 43 pct increase in annual profit, helped by strong sales in the UK. ... |
