Some of the state's sickest people, those with pre-existing medical conditions that have prevented them from getting private health insurance, would be able to get TennCare again under one bill making its way through the legislature.
About 67,000 uninsurable Tennesseans lost TennCare coverage last year when the state cut costs. But one bill by state Rep. Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald, and state Sen. Jim Bryson, R-Franklin, would allow anyone who is determined as uninsurable by an independent underwriter to apply for TennCare. ... |
