Life insurance industry logs 41 pc growth in FY06 New Delhi: Life insurance sector grew by 41 per cent in 2005-06 due to better performance of country's largest life insurer, LIC, and private players like Bajaj Allianz and ICICI Prudential.

The 15 life insurance companies together collected Rs 35,898 crore in the fiscal ended March this year, compared to Rs 25,343 crore in the previous fiscal, according to data compiled by regulator IRDA.

Majority of Zepter sold

BELGRADE -- Austrian insurance group Uniqa has bought 80 percent of Zepter Insurance’s capital.

Klien said that the process of obtaining one licence from the National Bank of Serbia and all other relevant documentation related to the takeover of Zepter Insurance is ongoing.
Zepter International owner Philip Zepter said that the partnership with Uniqa will expand the activities of the company and increase its number of employees. He said that Zepter handles 40 per cent of all life insurance-related activity in Serbia. ...
