Pennsylvania girl, 9, leaves hospital after shark bite

The 9-year-old Pennsylvania girl had been expected to remain in the hospital for several more days, but her condition improved enough to allow her to leave Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute on Wednesday night, said hospital spokeswoman Ginger King.
"It's going to be one long road," her mother Leslie Shipp said. "It's one lot of pain and she can't get around. She has to struggle with how to use crutches." ...

The tentative tax rate is $6.35 on every $1,000 of taxable value. That is lower than last year's rate of $6.60 but likely will result in an almost flat tax bill for homesteaded parcels when higher property values are factored in.
For example, one house assessed at $180,000 with one $25,000 homestead exemption would pay $984 in taxes. Its bill last year was about $990. ...
