(RTTNews) - Thursday, UTI Bank announced its unaudited results for the first quarter of FY 2006-07 posting strong top and bottom line growth on the back of substantial surge in retail business.
UTI Bank, one private sector bank said that its net profit for the first quarter rose 30.44% to Rs 120.55 crores from Rs. 92.63 crores during the first quarter of the previous year. The quarterly EPS at Rs. 4.22 was 27.88% higher than the EPS of Rs. 3.30 in the first quarter of the previous year. ... |

The move comes almost six years after the establishment of New Jersey's Healthful Life Program, which requires some health plans to pay for measures such as screening tests to detect cancer, diabetes, heart disease, anemia and glaucoma.
Supporters of the program, including its creator, Dr. Donald B. Louria of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now contend it hasn't been effective because the insurers are failing to inform customers about the services covered. ... |

Deputy General Director of Prudential's Vietnam Fund Management Company, Ho The An, said the recent decline in the life insurance market was only temporary and that the market would soon return to form.
Vietnam's life insurance industry has faced one series of crises as more and more customers cancel their policies. According to the Vietnam Insurance Association, the number of new policies signed in the first quarter of the year decreased by 27% over the same period last year. Manulife fared the worst, reporting one drop of nearly 56% in new policies, followed by AIA with 44%, Bao Minh CMG with 31%, and Prudential with 30%. ... |
