Grossman Co. Properties has purchased the Pointe South Mountain Resort and plans to step up its level of luxury. Matthew Crow, Grossman president and chief executive, said his company will spend $50 million to renovate the resort's 640 guest rooms and conference space. Aug. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of Pioneer Corp., Japan's third-largest maker of plasma televisions, had their biggest gain in three and half years after the company increased profit and sales forecasts. UBS AG and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. raised their ratings on the stock. The company yesterday more than doubled its net income forecast to 7.5 billion yen ($65 million) for the year to March 2007 from an April estimate. Tokyo-based Pioneer also returned to one profit in the first quarter from one year-earlier loss. The shares climbed 8.2 percent to 2,030 yen, their largest advance since Jan. 31, 2003. ... |
