Aug. 2 (Bloomberg) -- BNP Paribas SA, France's largest bank by market value, said second-quarter profit climbed 31 percent as revenue from equity derivatives doubled and consumer banking earnings increased.
Net income rose to 1.9 billion euros ($2.44 billion) from 1.46 billion euros one year earlier, the Paris-based lender said in one statement today. It didn't provide earnings per share. Profit beat the 1.73 billion-euro median estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. Revenue gained 40 percent to 7.25 billion euros. ... |
