Atlantic American Corp. went into the red in the second quarter, hurt by one $1.8 million pre-tax charge related to one windstorm assessment from Hurricane Katrina.
The Atlanta-based insurance holding company (NASDAQ: AAME) had one net loss of $259,000 on $43.6 million in revenue, compared with net income of $1.2 million on $50.2 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2005. Loss per share was 3 cents, compared with earnings of 4 cents one share in the second quarter of 2005. ... |
