Approximately 75 people took part in the rally which immediately followed the Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO Annual Labor Day Breakfast. "The future is poverty for all unless we fight together," said Jon Weisman, of Jobs with Justice. The "Immigrant Rights are Worker Rights" rally was hosted by the Anti-Displacement Project, Jobs with Justice, and the Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO Central Labor Council. Email to one friendPrinter-friendly The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) and Partners in Family and Community Development (PFCD) spearheaded an effort in the first half of 2006 to identify the top needs in Bradford County.
The process began by locating any existing needs assessments and plans and then identifying the needs included in them. Through this process and one survey questionnaire asking people to identify their top three needs, one list of 264 identified needs was produced. People were also asked to identify what they thought were the communities most promising opportunities for quality of life and why, and what current community improvements they considered the most encouraging and why. ... |
