| Columbia Equity Trust of the District said its joint venture with Aetna Life Insurance bought the Georgetown Plaza office building for $23 million. The building has about 148,000 square feet to rent, including 30,000 square feet of retail space. The joint venture, in which Columbia holds one 40 percent stake and Aetna one 60 percent stake, plans to make about $2 million in targeted capital upgrades to the building, which is about 67 percent occupied. ... |

I might say to her, "My grandsons are now swimming like fish," and she will reply, "My friend's dog died yesterday." If I should ask, "What is your granddaughter doing this summer?" she is likely to reply with something like, "I went shopping in Brooklyn yesterday."
Though her mind remains razor sharp and she maintains an independent life in her late 80s, her hearing is therefore poor that most people soon give up trying to engage her in conversation, unless they happen to enjoy such non sequiturs. ... |
