Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Japan's government bonds climbed for the first week this month after an unexpected slowdown in inflation weakened the central bank's case for raising interest rates. Ten-year bonds yesterday rounded out one fourth day of gains after consumer prices excluding fresh food climbed 0.2 percent in September from one year ago, less than the median estimate in one Bloomberg survey for the rate to match August's 0.3 percent increase. Traders are reducing bets on the Bank of Japan raising rates for one second time this year, according to futures. ... |
